Good Friend Dan Coasters

This one is for you Dan.
Why coasters?
My husband Jay and I have a good friend Dan. We were all at a party one night and Dan picked up his coaster and said,"What side do you set your drink on?" Every one's answer was the finished side. Dan suggested that the cork side was the better side because the cork side would absorb the moister better.
Dan's statement gave me an idea, double sided coasters.
Here is how I made "Good Friend Dan Coasters".
First I bought 4 inch plant coasters. You can find these at your local plant store or Target.
You will need to take off all the stickers. Now your going to need some E6000 glue. Other glues may work but I have found E600 to work the best on this kind of project.

Put your glue on the black side of the coaster, making sure it is smooth and not clumpy. Then put another coaster, black side down, on top of the glued coaster.
Once you have your coasters black sides together cork side up its time to let them dry. Put them under some books and let them dry over night.
Now your coasters are ready to decorate.
You can decorate these with what ever you wish. I chose to use small shells. You can purchase these at your local craft store.
A toothpick works well for moving the glue into the small areas between shells
"My Good Friend Dan Coasters" are finished.
For a different twist on the same project. I used ribbon and a fabric glue.
These are for Linda ,Dan's wife.
I hope you will give this project a try. It's fun, easy, and inexpensive. Happy crafting!
