Below my Great- great- great- grandmothers keepsake shadow box, sits a collection of vintage sewing baskets.
My vintage baskets are three different sizes. They all are woven,with a slightly raised bottom.
All of the baskets have wonderful glass bead work. The two larger baskets have silk tassels,old coins,and bows.
The two larger baskets also have hand painted glass beads that could fit on ones wrist.
These baskets have a nice rim on the inside that helps to keep them closed. The medium size basket also has glass beads and old coins formed in a star design.
My favorite of all these baskets is the smallest. This wonderful little basket demonstrates it's original use. It not only has the silk tassels and beads, but tied to the end of a beaded string you will find vintage scissors.
