Good morning friends!
Today I will share with you
my experience with painting
my old Adirondack Chair.
As you can see she is in great need of a redo.
After coming across a wonderful blog called
Beyond The Picket Fence

I was inspired to give my chair a
little shabby redo.

I was inspired to give my chair a
little shabby redo.
First I gathered up my supplies;
electric sander, paint, stain, paint brushes
and old rags.
I started by sanding my chair. I knocked
off all the loose paint while leaving some of the
green paint on the chair.
Then I used a damp rag to wipe of the dust.
Red was the next color to go on my chair.
I like the red but I really did not need
to put on as much red as I did.
I had to do quite a bit of sanding to get
the look I wanted.
(next time I will go lighter with the red)
Okay time for the next color.
How about blue?
I like blue and this is kind of nice the
way it is but I added some yellow.
Just a little yellow paint with a very light hand.
I did not sand after putting on the blue paint.
I sanded the chair after putting on the
yellow paint.
I have sanded my chair and wiped it
clean with a damp rag.
Time to put on the stain.
I tend to like my colors a little on the
muddy side so I choose a walnut stain.
My chair is now sitting out in front
of my studio
just waiting for a visitor.
Come on by and sit for a while!
