How many of you get a request
for a "hot dog" scarf?
Mac is always presenting me with a challenge.
One day he calls me and says,
" Hi mom, I have an idea for you.
How about making me a Hot Dog
Scarf. "
I had no idea how I was going to do this.
Would I knit it or crochet it?
What yarns would I use and what colors
would I need?
I found a heavy yarn that I used for the
orange red hot dog ( the center of the scarf).
I choose this same
yarn in a cream color for a bun.
First I crocheted the hot dog center then
crocheted around the hot hog with the cream yard
until I formed a bun.
Now it was time for a little mustard and ketchup.
For this I used thinner yarns with texture.
I crocheted the mustard colored yarn down one side
and the red yarn down the
other side of the hot dog.
Last, I used a green variegated ribbon yarn
that gave my scarf a relish finish.
The scarf ended up too short for Mac
but I learned a lot in the process.
So there you have it, the
Hot Dog
challenge scarf.
