Copper and Brass Butterfly Cuff

Trying Something New
I am always wanting to learn how to do new things,
so this week I taught myself how to rivet and
I experimented with some different metal finishes.
I had some copper and brass that I had already etched.
I chose a piece of  brass and made my cuff.
Then I cutout a butterfly from a pieces of etched copper.
I  sanded and polished both pieces. Then I  put them together with rivets.
I love the look of riveting and will definitely being using this technique in the future.
I gave this butterfly a fiber middle using a beautiful  lock of wool.
My cuff needed some blue on the metal to go with the blue fiber, so I had some fun
 experimenting with different metal finishes.
Trying something new gave me this unique, one of a kind, butterfly cuff.
Never be afraid to try something new.
It will grow you and your art.
