A Perfect Evening

Useppa Island is a beautiful place all year round.
There is always a breeze here and
 something is always blooming.
Those of us who live here year round
look forward to the summer months when the night
blooming cereus appear.
Once the sun has gone down and the sky is dark
these fascinating white flowers appear.
With their many layers of petals and pistil's
and stamen, they take center stage.
Some nights you will see hundereds of these
sensual flowers beckoning you to stare
as they entice the insects that fly by.
Their beauty is but for a night, for in the morning
what once shone bright turns inward and is but a
droopy sight.
So capture the moments while you can.
