Jewelry- Necklaces with a Vintage Flare

How does an artist stay unique,
 current and relevant?
This is a question I have been asking myself
as of late.
The answer I came up with was,
"Stay true to yourself Ginny."
I asked myself,"What do you love?
What do you like to do? What inspires you?
What do you collect? Who are you?"
While asking myself these few questions
I was inspired to tell little stories of my life
and the world I love.
These necklaces are made with vintage
laces,buttons,beads and jewelry.
I also mix new finds in with the old.
The centers of these pieces have been needle felted,
giving each piece its own unique look and feel.
The Bird High In the Tree

Little bird,
little bird, what do you see,
as you sit high on that branch
looking at me?
Oh little bird,
do you not see,
your little nest dangling from your tree?
This piece hangs from an
 antiqued brass chain
 that is 17inches long.
This chain is accented with three
prehnite beads and five wooden beads.
This story piece is
3 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide.
Granny's Notions

Dear Granny,
 as you sit and sew,
what do you think,
as your garden grows?
Each button so carefully sewn,
your diligence and patience shown.
Granny look!
In your garden, can you see it?
A beautiful butterfly,
just landed on me!
This 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 story piece
hangs from a 16 inch gun metal chain.
It is accented with tiny gold filled beads
and finished with a trefoil toggle.
By using a toggle on these long chains
it gives the wearer the option of wearing
their necklace long or as a choker.
Sunny Days and White Waves

Sunny days,
bright blue sky's,
teal waters,
 sparkling like diamonds and pearls,
dolphins at play.
Oh what a day!
Full Moon

Bright,
bright is the night.
no fuller moon,
no fuller life.
Stars

The two of us,
just friends,
 walk out into the night.
Is it dark?
The stars so bright,
 are every where tonight.
Look the Big Dipper!
How do you know?
That star, the bright star.
Two friends
just looking up.
Thank you friends for visiting my
blog.
What ever you do
 love it,
  do it well
 and stay true
to who you are.
