Crafting - Making Leis

A small dinner with friends inspired me
in so many ways.
I had a wonderful time putting
a tropical summer meal together as well as
creating these pretty pink Leis to present
to my friends as they walked into the door.
If you would like to make
 these beautiful tropical necklaces
you will first need to gather frangipani flowers.
Then you will need embroidery thread, needle
and scissors.
Thread your needle.
Pick up one of your flowers and slowly put the needle
through the hole at the bottom of the flower.
Gently push your needle up into the heart of the flower.
When you can see the needle on the other side
slowly pull your thread through your flower.
Continue threading flowers onto your thread until
you have a long strand of flowers.
Turn your last flower the opposite way and
 thread it onto your strand.
Bring your ends together, tie them
and trim the ends of the thread.
Fill a bucket full of water.
Gently submerge your flowers into the water.
Take them out and slowly shake the
water off the flowers.
(Do this with one Lei at a time.)
Hang your Lei's in your refrigerator until
just before your guest arrive.
As your friends walk into the door you can greet them
with this sweet gift of welcome.
Hello, my friends, come in and stay awhile!
